“Help Me Feel Better”

$4,000.00

32" x 42" x 3" Oil on canvas, framed

This piece takes the viewer into a room, catching a couple engaged in a series of experiements of alternative health care. We all are just trying to feel better. This piece is a work capturing a moment of 2025. The wooden paneling and outdated furniture (noted by modern posters adorning walls) speaks of the possibility of a tight budget and the revolving door of Popular culture and human behavior repeating oneselves. The alternative therapies (cupping, Chinese face mapping, sound bowl therapy, sage, crystals) speaks to no affordable healthcare. The fake plant and brownies on the end table speaks to our lives being fake and the irony of substitution of what we need as humans. And yet in the midst of crisis, connection between people are formed.
