Avery and Tiffany’s wedding at Lavender Ridge Farm was full of joy, family, friends, and celebration.
The super sweet couple were gifted by their incredibly thoughtful friends a live wedding portrait that included family who are gone but never forgotten in the audience.
I worked with the venue, friends commissioning their wedding painting, bride’s sister, and wedding planner to get verbal and text confirmation that the couple really wanted a wedding painter (Avery even messaged me the week of the wedding to see if I was available to paint! I informed him I was already under contract for a wedding to keep the surprise element intact for their friends) These steps are so important to ensure there are no bad surprises for the couple and they get their dream wedding and they remain fully in control of their day.
Next, I received pictures of their family who wouldn’t be able to be at the wedding (gone but not forgotten) and pre-painted them onto the primed canvas prior to the event.
Upon arriving at the venue, I set up my easel at the front of the venue facing the gorgeous barn and the chairs so that the audience would be facing my canvas. I then went to work painting the background and the venue before the ceremony. During the pre-wedding groomsman photos, Avery saw me and got to choose the moment: vows vs kiss. He chose kiss to be the the moment captured on canvas!
Ten minutes before the ceremony I moved my easel and set up to the back of the audience tucked away between the last row of chairs and the venue. This kept me out of the way and out of photos but with a fantastic view of the big moment. I set up my tripod and began recording to video capture the moment for reference.
Avery and Tiffany did their first kiss which I started painting, then surprised me with a dramatic kiss at the end of the aisle! I knew I had to repaint in real time and capture the second kiss it was such a gorgeous moment.
The family and friends of the couple were so enthusiastic and entertained seeing the wedding painting come to life before their eyes. I re-set up my easel during cocktail hour under the wedding arch moved to the corner of the patio giving the guests the perfect view of the painting process and access to capture photos. It was so beautiful to see the reaction of guests recognizing their family in the painting and the stories they told and emotional nostalgia.
To conclude, it was a magical wedding and such a privilege to be there capturing the night for the couple in paint.
Their package also included a hand crafted float frame and professional print from Photographic Creations
